Collaborative Public History Dark Heritage Project
Demonised: the Islandmagee Witches project is dedicated to uncovering the importance of the last witch trial in Ireland (in Carrickfergus, Co. Antrim in 1711). The project aims to bring the story of 'Islandmagee Witches' to wider audiences in creative ways and using new technologies. We have recently launched a dedicated digital toolkit website; a graphic novel; a choice-driven video game; original musical score; and VR experience based on the trial. You are welcome to explore this neglected Irish social and cultural history and deepen your understanding about the witch trials.
